FRID – Conducting Research in Design is the national forum aimed at sharing the results of doctoral research in design and reflecting on the developments of the discipline in its various forms.
The 2017 edition, titled “On the Method/On the Methods. Explorations for the Identities of Design,” aims to provide an opportunity to discuss and compare the characteristics of the different methodological lenses employed in design research. These are often borrowed from tools of other disciplines and assimilated through processes of redefinition and recontextualization. We believe that it is increasingly necessary to explicitly develop a critical awareness of the investigative tools specific to design.
