Sapienza University of Rome celebrates thirty years of Design with a rich program of events, starting with the national conference “30 years of Design at Sapienza,” scheduled for January 28-29, 2026, at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Architecture, Valle Giulia location.
The conference, divided into four thematic sessions, retraces the journey from 1995, the year of the first Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, to the current structure that includes the bachelor’s degree, Master’s programs, and Doctoral programs. The sessions will feature testimonies from founding faculty, success stories from alumni, the international dimension of the school, third mission activities, and future prospects of design.
The celebrations, organized by the Design faculty and researchers of Sapienza, will continue throughout 2026 with international conferences, networking events, publications, and multimedia content. The program includes the CUID conference “New Commissions for Design” (February), the international conference “Design across Time” (February), and the joint SID-CUID conference “The Doctorate in Design” (March).
