The Triennale di Milano is organizing the XXI edition of its International Exhibition titled “21st Century. Design After Design” for 2016 (April 2 – September 12).
As a pioneer and forerunner in promoting the arts and design research, the Triennale has chosen a theme that raises many questions about the meaning of design and its role in a constantly changing world. The concept incorporates key issues such as the impact of globalization on design, the transformations following the 2008 crisis and the advent of the 21st century; the relationship between cities and design; design and the accessibility of new information technologies; design research as a circular activity; the art of design and anthropology, as well as the fundamental questions that arise in this regard. Last but not least, the place occupied by design in relation to craftsmanship.
On this occasion, the Triennale di Milano announces an international multidisciplinary call for operators and professionals in the fields of applied arts (architecture, design, craftsmanship), visual and performing arts, cinema, music, fashion under the age of 35 (born on or after November 1, 1980), from all over the world.
The call (see web-link) aims to gather, map, and select the most original and innovative actions carried out in the aforementioned fields by the creativity of individuals, groups, “collectives”, and schools.
