The President and the SID Board of Directors thank all participants of the SID 2025 Annual Conference “Plural Design: Alternative Cases and Models for Innovation,” which saw the presence of over 300 researchers and professors from all over Italy. The event, held from June 25 to 27 at Palazzo Gravina of the University of Naples Federico II, confirmed the vitality and innovative capacity of the Italian scientific design community.
The conference opened with the Assembly of Bottom-up Groups and the Ordinary Members’ Assembly, followed by two intense days of discussions with international keynote speakers from Spain, Colombia, and France: Blanca Callén Moreu, Curro Claret, Alfredo Gutiérrez Borrero, and Ernesto Oroza. The Honorary Members’ nomination ceremony was particularly significant, featuring a keynote lecture by Paola Antonelli and conversations with young doctoral students by Ermanno Guida, Patrizia Ranzo, and Raimonda Riccini.
The program included 10 parallel sessions of research projects, idea presentations, the SID Design Award ceremony, the inauguration of the exhibition “Naples Design 1950-2000,” and the round table “Research Policies in/for the GSD” with CUN President Paolo V. Pedone and the Presidents of the GSD Scientific Societies.
Special thanks go to the conference Chair Alfonso Morone and the entire group of professors and researchers from the University of Naples Federico II, particularly Carla Langella, Pietro Nunziante, Ramon Rispoli, Ivo Caruso, and Susanna Parlato, as well as the doctors, doctoral students, and volunteers who contributed to the excellent organization and hospitality.
