The Call for Papers is open for the VII AIS/Design Conference, titled ‘Product History or Context History? Useful Antinomies for the History of Design’. The conference proposes a reflection on two fundamental and complementary perspectives in the history of design. The first focuses on products, analyzing their role in the evolution of industrial processes and the current transformations of production and consumption concepts. The second explores design as a contextual phenomenon, examining its multiple manifestations through ideas, practices, and ‘environments’, also considering its political implications. This dual perspective, while not exhausting the complexity of design history, offers an interesting analytical viewpoint yet to be fully explored, opening new avenues of reflection for researchers and scholars in the field.
