The President and the Executive Board of SID collaborated with other scientific societies of GSD 08-CEAR/08 “Design, Architectural Technology, Technical Architecture, and Management of the Built Environment” in drafting a document of observations on Bill 1518 regarding university recruitment, submitted to the CUN upon specific request for the development of the institutional opinion.
The document, jointly prepared by the scientific communities of the four SSDs (CEAR-08/A Technical Architecture, CEAR-08/B Production and Management of the Built Environment, CEAR-08/C Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture, and CEAR-08/D Design), highlights the need to safeguard scientific quality and evaluative integrity in academic recruitment processes.
The observations emphasize the importance of maintaining a clear reference to Scientific-Disciplinary Sectors in competitive procedures, the necessity of committees composed of faculty from the specific sector, and the urgency of an extraordinary recruitment plan for tenure track researchers. The document was approved by the boards of the respective scientific societies and represents a shared position of the academic community of the GSD.
